The Location and Venue

The venue is situated near a picturesque wine region, just 2 hours from Sydney and 1 hour from Canberra. It boasts a robust food scene and offers a scenic living environment.

This local country pub, which has been recently renovated and is cherished by the community, aims to provide a high-end dining experience. It is conveniently located near major towns and close to exceptional local wineries and breathtaking views.

There is a huge opportunity to showcase and support some local suppliers / butchers and growers.

The Role

This is an interesting role in running the busy pub, which will be looking to offer British-Gastro Pub style food. Driving the culture in food and beverage through your passion and skill as Head Chef.

It’s a hands-on role and they are a very busy venue. Looking for cool under fire / collaborative man-management style. No Screamers! No egos! It’s a creative role with full menu design and the potential to help other with other venues the company owns, so definitely room for career progression.

The Chef & The Crew

This position is in a bustling British Gastro pub. As the Head Chef, you will manage the venue with the assistance of a small team and the support of the family owners.

The Licensee has a very strong background in butchery and is passionate about food and developing his people. He will be able to help and support you where needed with some prime local cuts and breaking down whole meats!

In addition to overseeing daily operations, additional responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Hands-on with prep, service and running dockets
  • Rosters and team management
  • Menu designing and coming up with specials
  • Running to Food and Labour %’s
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Manage a small team of 2-3 chefs

You don’t have to know all of this, just the ability to run a busy service with good food. The owner can help develop with financials and business management.

On Offer

The successful candidate will be offered off site accommodation, free Wi-Fi, utilities plus up to $90K+S.
It’s a 45-hour, 5-day working week.
