The Venue

This is a rare role and a fantastic opportunity for an operational savvy, all-rounder General Manager to lead this well-known venue.

This iconic CBD/Inner West pub that pumps all year round and is known for the high level of service and impressive food and beverage offering. They are a family-run business with a strong track record of staff retention.

The location is a stone’s throw away from a large well-known luscious green park, which provides stunning views while being in the city. Easy to get to, with public transport on their doorstep.

The Role

You will be overseeing the daily operations including bar, dining, accommodation and gaming. The focus will be on ensuring service quality, procedure implementation, cash control and the overall customer experience is being maintained to maximum standards. You will be responsible for a strong team of Duty Managers and ensuring they meet their KPI’s and development needs.

They put a big focus on community engagement initiatives and will look for someone to represent the venue who’s able to ensure long-lasting relationships with key people in the area. The owners, along with the team—who have been with the company for many years—will provide you with excellent support.

The Person

In your role as the General Manager, you will have the autonomy to manage your own schedule. This position does not involve opening or closing duties; instead, it is focused entirely on service and administrative tasks due to the busy nature of the business. The team of 4 Duty Managers will be doing the closes and opens so you can finish up early.

There will be the utmost trust with this role and the owners essentially want to ‘hand over the keys’ to a strong and well-established General Manager.


Salary is being explored between $110K and $120K plus super. Free meals and discounted parking is also available. The owners want to eventually hand over the keys to the GM and shares of the business as a future offer.
