The Venue

A Sydney institution, a well-known restaurant located in the heart of the CBD. Newly refurbished and a fresh new take on the concept, culture and experience is what it’s all about – out with the old, in with the new!

The Role

The Restaurant Manager is expected to run the show all while maintaining a first-class style of service. It’s all the bells and whistles under one roof.

It’s about knowing what the customer wants and needs, before they even know. It’s training, leading and mentoring your equally passionate team to ensure the highest standards are met every time.

Having excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, is essential. In addition, and given the nature of this role, you will need to have had strong experience in similar premium style restaurants.

You’ll also need to have a down-to-earth leadership style and be a people person. It is very important that you are confident and comfortable working with a large team, being able to motivate them.

It is service focused, so you will be expected to get in there with the rest of the team and be quite hands on, as well as being admin savvy with rosters, cashing up, hiring and training staff and setting up SOPs and sequences of service.

There is also an element of financials to the role, where you will be overseeing the forecasting, budgeting, labour costs and minor P&L’s, as well as daily cash up reports. These are skills you will already have or have had exposure to in other roles.

Complete autonomy in the role, so you’ll need to be highly organised and can jump right in without much direction. It’s an opportunity to take ownership of the venue with very little interference — guidance is given if needed or wanted, but ultimately, it’s down to the restaurant manager.

Requirements

Ability to run a very busy and fast-paced restaurant, being prepared to step in when required is a must. Ideally, you’ll have a cool temperament while maintaining happy staff and customers.

We are searching for someone with a particularly kind, interesting, and hospitable demeanor. Someone who has the ability to make every guest feel at ease and encourage repeat visits.

This is a very open role for anyone who has the right attitude and enthusiasm to be a success. You will naturally come from a background of high-end restaurant management with a focus on customer experience, looking for a job that offers a chance to work autonomously like it’s your own venue, as well as an opportunity for work-life balance.

Having a presence on the floor is where you feel most drawn. You will set a good example for the floor team by exuding confidence and a positive attitude.

Rewards

First of all, the tips are incredible and consistent, up to $800 a week in the busier seasons and $450 a week in the quieter seasons.

Not only will you be working in one of the most lavish, well known and established and consistent venues in town, but you’ll also be well rewarded for your efforts.

Salary is $95K+ Super + Tips. Plus a work-life balance of 45 hours a week with two days off in a row, car space included.
