This property just south of Brisbane is a stunning, large-scale resort.  Known for its location, backing onto water and only a short drive to both the Gold Coast and Brisbane.

The Role

As events operations manager, you’ll be working closely with your team, servicing a corporate and leisure clientele with a focus on the wedding sector. This is a large property and there are literally hundreds of events each year, usually several at once, so it’s a role that requires strong organisational skills and team leadership.

The role is full operations, which means that while there is plenty of support, the expectation is that this person is very much hands on and client facing day to day, and at the same time maintaining a strategic overview and direction.

You will also be working closely with your team (who are fantastic), mentoring and guiding them in achieving the goals and business objectives.  There are several other mangers/supervisors within the events department that know the property really well and will offer a lot of support.

Sounds like a big job… It is and we need a strong proven Banquets Manager to fill it.

Who We Are Looking For

The first must have is excellent communication skills both written and verbal. In addition and given the nature of this role, you will need to have had strong management experience in Banquets, Meetings and Events, ideally in a large hotel or events space.

We will also need you to have strong administration skills, down-to-earth leadership style and of course the ability to write and deliver sound strategy and business planning.

Being a people person, confident and being comfortable working with our corporate clients is also a really important part of the role.

What You’ll Get

This is a role that is predominantly Monday to Friday, so most weekends off.  It’s also a senior Operations Manager role so salary offered would be up to $90K+S depending on skills and experience.
