The Role

We’re on the lookout for a hands-on Assistant Manager to take the reins of an established, forward-thinking beverage program. Sitting at bar manager level in responsibility, this role is designed for someone with deep expertise in cocktails, wine, and beer, and the ability to lead a team with energy, clarity, and consistency.

From crafting and curating a standout cocktail program to collaborating with suppliers on seasonal launches and in-venue activations, this is an exceptional opportunity for a beverage-focused leader with a passion for innovation. The role also includes overseeing and refining the wine list, while working closely with operations to shape the beer selection and contribute to broader beverage strategy. Strong financial acumen is essential, with responsibilities including GP tracking and performance analysis. In addition, the successful candidate will coordinate quarterly training sessions in partnership with key suppliers to drive product knowledge and team engagement.

You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in beverage leadership, including cocktail development
  • Strong operational knowledge and leadership in busy pub or bar-forward venues
  • Confidence in training, delegating, and team development
  • Solid understanding of GP, stock control, and ordering systems
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities

Leadership & Operations

This is a genuine leadership role, well-suited to an individual who excels in fast-paced, high-volume settings and leads by example. You will be responsible for driving service excellence across both the bar and floor, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations through hands-on management, clear direction, and a strong sense of accountability.

With another Assistant Manager and a Night Manager by your side, your role will be central to maintaining team morale, consistency in execution, and a great guest experience.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead high-energy shifts and support team performance
  • Manage rosters, daily operations, and team training
  • Oversee financial procedures including reconciliations and stock control
  • Drive systems and ensure operational accountability across the team
