The Role
We are seeking a Senior Chef to head up the events division, overseeing food delivery across weddings, private functions, and VIP dining. The right candidate will have a strong culinary foundation in Italian food, be commercially minded, and thrive in environments that demand both structure and flexibility.
This senior leadership role reports directly to the Executive Chef and Founders, with clear potential to step into an Executive Chef position as the business expands.
You must have a driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the execution of high-volume, high-quality event menus (typically 80–200 pax)
- Lead and manage kitchen teams of 3–15 staff per event, often on the smaller side
- Collaborate with senior leadership on menu development and business strategy.
- Create and cost seasonal menus that reflect premium produce and current food trends.
- Manage staffing, training, logistics, and event-day execution
- Maintain a professional, organised and clean kitchen environment
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in high-quality kitchens
- Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine – modern and traditional
- A full, valid driver’s licence is essential
- Demonstrated ability to manage logistics and production across multiple locations
- Comfortable managing both kitchen admin and hands-on service
- Clear communication, low-ego leadership style, and adaptable mindset
Salary & Benefits
- $90,000–$110,000 base salary + superannuation
- Incentive bonuses for solo event management (typically $500 monthly)
- Structured work week (average 42-45 hours)

This role is based in the Inner West region of Sydney, close to major public transport routes. The company works across multiple venues in the Sydney metro area, managing over 50 weddings annually alongside private bookings and bespoke functions.
