Overview

  • Meetings & Events Manager role with genuine ownership
  • Supportive, experienced and long-standing leadership team
  • People-first culture with strong staff retention

The Business

This is a busy corporate property with a consistent calendar of meetings, conferences and corporate events. Most events cater for 15 to 150 guests, with occasional larger, high-profile functions that require more detailed planning, coordination and team involvement. The business is primarily focused on the corporate market, so there are no weddings to manage. The role involves overseeing a steady flow of corporate meetings and conferences, alongside larger events that require close coordination across departments to ensure smooth delivery.

The Role

Your time splits roughly three ways:

  • Leading and developing a small team of coordinators who finalise contracts and BEOs and look after event organisers day to day.
  • Running your own portfolio of events from handover to the final invoice, so clients know they’re in safe hands.
  • Owning the numbers: forecasting, pace reports, yield on function space, and sitting at the table in revenue and P&L meetings.

Strong Excel skills and experience using event management systems such as Delphi or Opera will be highly beneficial in this role.

Who We’re Looking For

You may already be a Meetings & Events Manager or an experienced Assistant Meetings & Events Manager ready to step into a leadership role. Either way, you’ll have a strong background in a busy conferencing and events environment, managing a high volume of corporate bookings and events. You’re organised, reliable and confident managing client relationships from planning through to delivery. You know how to lead and support a team, maintain service standards and manage budgets while ensuring events run smoothly.

What’s In It For You

  • Monday to Friday. No weekend work.
  • Free parking.
  • Meals on duty.
  • Uniform laundry taken care of.
  • A quarterly sales incentive on top of base salary, paid when it’s due.
  • Room for more flexibility once you’re settled in and the department is running the way you want it.
  • Genuine career pathways within a larger group.

They have a strong team in place and are looking for the right person to lead them. If this sounds like you, or someone you know, I’d welcome the opportunity to have a confidential chat.
