They are now looking to appoint a Head Chef who brings both strong culinary expertise and authentic leadership — someone who leads from the pass, develops their team, and takes genuine pride in every dish that leaves the kitchen.
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership position within a large, high-performing restaurant kitchen.
You will be joining an established kitchen environment supported by prep teams and professional cleaning staff, allowing the culinary team to focus on producing consistently high-quality food.
This role suits a chef who still enjoys being on the tools, guiding the team, teaching technique and leading service from the front.
Responsibilities include:

Leading and mentoring the kitchen team in a high volume restaurant environment

Maintaining exceptional food quality, consistency and presentation across all services

Working closely with senior leadership on menu execution and seasonal updates

Training and developing chefs across all sections of the kitchen

Monitoring kitchen standards, prep quality and service flow

Managing ordering, supplier relationships and kitchen inventory

Overseeing rostering, labour management and kitchen organisation

Maintaining strong food safety and operational standards

Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste and maintain profitability

Leading service periods while supporting the team across sections when required
About You
You are an experienced Head Chef with a strong culinary foundation and a passion for leading kitchens.
You have a background in well-regarded restaurants where quality, technique, and consistency are paramount. You understand the discipline and structure required to operate a busy kitchen while consistently maintaining high culinary standards.
Most importantly, you are the kind of chef who leads by example. You are present during service, engaged with the team and passionate about developing chefs and maintaining a disciplined, professional kitchen.

A modern Australian background with a strong classical culinary foundation
