About the Venue

A strong, community-driven venue in Southern Sydney is looking for a Head Chef to take the lead in its kitchen.

This is a well-established, food-led venue operating within a high-performing pub setting. The offering blends modern Italian cuisine with elevated pub classics, creating a menu that feels both contemporary and familiar. Seasonal house-made pastas, premium grill selections, and produce-driven dishes feature prominently, complemented by the much-loved staples that continue to draw a loyal local following.

The kitchen is open, creating a connected and energetic service environment where leadership presence naturally sets the tone for the team.

The venue forms part of a growing hospitality group and works closely with a highly regarded Group Executive Chef from a well-known two-hatted Sydney background. There is genuine culinary direction behind the business, supported by strong commercial structure and engaged ownership.

The Role

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives on the floor and in the kitchen during service. You will lead from the front, mentor and direct the brigade, uphold consistency across every shift, and continue refining the menu within a proven, high-performing framework.

The kitchen is established and supported. This opportunity is about strengthening standards, building culture and delivering reliable execution week in, week out.

You will have autonomy in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, backed by experienced leadership and a group that values structure and accountability.

About You

This role will suit an experienced Head Chef from a quality pub, bistro or neighbourhood venue, or a strong Sous Chef ready to step confidently into a leadership role.

You are calm under pressure, commercially aware and comfortable managing food cost and labour. You value consistency, lead with clarity and understand how to build and mentor a cohesive team.

You enjoy busy service, take pride in clean execution and are comfortable working in a visible, open kitchen environment.
