About the Club
This respected sporting club has been an integral part of its community for decades, established through its strong connection to a proud local sporting organisation. The club continues to honour this legacy while progressively evolving into a contemporary hospitality business.
The group operates three venues within 20 minutes of the Sydney CBD. The main club offers gaming, food and beverage, and function spaces. A smaller nearby club brings a more relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. A third venue was acquired recently and is tracking well toward profitability.
2024 was a record year with the highest revenue in over a decade. The club operates around 150 EGMs across the group, with gaming performing strongly off a modern, well-maintained fleet. Membership is growing. The fundamentals are in place.
Approximately 100 staff are employed across the venues, supported by an organisational structure that includes a Chief Operating Officer, venue managers, and functional managers responsible for gaming, facilities, marketing, and compliance.
The Ideal Candidate
This is a role for someone who leads from the front. Operational capability and genuine involvement in the business.
The successful candidate will be in the business and visible. The club needs someone with their finger on the pulse who’s comfortable being present on the floor at key times.
Strong commercial acumen is essential. The incoming CEO must have a solid understanding of gaming, food and beverage, and broader club operations. With an experienced gaming manager already in place, the role is not about personally running the gaming floor, but about understanding the numbers, asking the right questions, and driving performance across the entire business.
Culturally the club values its people. Staff are considered the greatest asset, and the incoming CEO will be expected to invest in the team’s development and build a culture of stability and performance. Staff retention has been consistently strong.

Board Relationship
The board is one of the strong points for this role. It meets monthly and comprises directors with deep roots in the local sporting community. The President maintains regular contact with the CEO between meetings.
This is a truly supportive board with strong community links.
They give the CEO genuine autonomy on operational decisions. Trust will need to be earned, as with any new relationship, but the environment is collaborative.
