The Position

Our client is looking for a hands-on, results-driven Venue Manager to lead the venue’s opening and establish it as a must-visit entertainment hub. This is an exciting opportunity for a leader who is passionate about hospitality and business growth and creates an engaging customer experience.

As the Venue Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, leading a dynamic team, and driving revenue through exceptional bar performance and creative promotions. Acting as the face of the venue, you will ensure seamless operations while cultivating a warm, community-focused atmosphere.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

Leadership & Operations

  • Recruit, train, and manage a versatile hospitality team.
  • Oversee the bar setup, ensuring high standards in drinks service and profitability.
  • Manage daily rosters and monitor the wage budgets
  • Ensure compliance with licensing, RSA requirements, and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with marketing and promotions teams to build the venue’s reputation and drive foot traffic.

Business & Financial Management

  • Take ownership of the venue’s P&L and financial performance.
  • Drive revenue through bar sales, events, and membership programs.
  • Implement efficient HR practices, onboarding systems, and awards compliance.
  • Work closely with the bookkeeper to maintain accurate financial records.

Customer Engagement & Community Building

Creating a welcoming environment for guests is key to ensuring outstanding service and meaningful engagement. The Venue Manager will actively promote and manage memberships, fostering guest loyalty and encouraging repeat visits. A strong focus on event bookings for corporate functions and social gatherings will be essential in driving revenue and enhancing the venue’s reputation. Additionally, the role will champion community initiatives, including accessibility programs and partnerships with schools, to reinforce the venue’s commitment to inclusivity and social impact.

What You Will Need

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in venue management, hospitality operations, or a similar leadership role, coupled with a deep understanding of liquor licensing, RSA compliance, and venue safety regulations. Financial acumen is essential, with proven expertise in managing budgets, revenue, and cost control.

This role demands a hands-on leadership style, with active daily engagement with both staff and customers rather than working behind the scenes.
