This is a role requiring relocation to the Southern Highlands, NSW.

You will be a key part of a team celebrated for hosting exceptional events and providing unforgettable dining experiences.

The Role

We are seeking a visionary Sous Chef to inspire our dynamic kitchen team, bringing their passion for fine dining and refined Mediterranean cuisine to life. This highly creative role involves:

  • Dual Venue Experience: Split your time between supporting our new wine bar concept featuring Mediterranean small plates and exclusive farm events, allowing you to explore different culinary challenges.
  • Menu Development: Collaborate closely with our Executive Chef to craft innovative menus that showcase local produce and your personal culinary flair.
  • Culinary Leadership: Manage and mentor a small, skilled team, cultivating a collaborative atmosphere that values creativity and high standards.
  • Service and Flexibility: The wine bar operates Friday and Saturday evenings, with the potential for an additional service night as the concept grows. The position comes with a 38-hour workweek, with reasonable overtime as needed.

Your Profile

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A Fine Dining Background: Extensive experience in premium or fine dining establishments, with a focus on Mediterranean and modern small-plate cuisine.
  • Creative Culinary Vision: A passion for developing exceptional dishes and experimenting with flavor combinations to elevate the guest experience.
  • Strong Leadership Skills: A supportive, collaborative management style, open to feedback and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Impressive Portfolio: Share photos of your signature dishes and maintain an active presence on social media to showcase your craft.
  • Adaptability and Teamwork: Flexible to shift between venues, embracing the diversity of our offerings and adjusting to seasonal demands.
