The Location and Venue
The venue is situated in the Blue Mountains, just 1.5 hours from Sydney, in an area with a thriving food scene and beautiful living environment. This newly renovated, beloved local country pub aims to create a premium offering.
The Role
This role involves assisting in managing a bustling pub that serves elevated pub-style food. It’s a hands-on position in a very busy venue, requiring a chef who is confident across all kitchen sections and can independently manage a busy section. The ideal candidate will have a calm, collaborative approach to man-management style.
The Chef & The Crew
This position is based in the bustling pub bistro. As the Junior Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in managing the bistro with support from a small team and the family owners.
In addition to assisting the Head Chef and overseeing day-to-day operations, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Hands-on with prep, service and running dockets
- Assist Head Chef with Rosters and team management
- Assist with Menu designing and coming up with specials
Your Experience
At least 3 years of chef experience in a busy environment.
On Offer
A salary starting at $75K plus Super, with the possibility of additional on-site temporary accommodation. The work week is 42-45 hours.
