- Senior Sous Chef role available in a beautiful beachside area with a charming country town atmosphere.
- Work in a great club with a well-equipped kitchen that was renovated just a few years ago.
- Supportive and organized Group Head Chef.
This position requires relocating to the NSW South Coast.
The Property
This venue is highly popular with both locals and tourists. The Club has a dedicated membership and aims to expand it through their F&B offerings. It’s a beach destination that attracts many summer tourists.
The Team and Set Up
The venue has a small to mid size team approx. 4-6 fulltime and casual chefs with servery staff on top of that. The Bistro serves fairly upmarket bistro fair with some more creative and interesting specials but there certainly is room to contribute ideas for specials.
The Role
The role is entirely hands-on, with the only administrative task being ordering.
Given the property’s high activity level in the Summer (with Winter being busy only on weekends), you must manage the volume during peak times and maintain an organized and tidy kitchen.
The primary focus of the role is managing the kitchen day-to-day, including prep and service.
The Ideal Background
The ideal Chef comes from a busy, high-volume, and quality restaurant, pub, or club background. The client is looking for a Chef with a stable work history, with a minimum of 2-year stays in their recent roles and at least 2 years of experience running and managing a busy kitchen in a Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef position.
On Offer
A competitive salary of up to $85K + super, with a flexible 5-day roster, averaging 38-42 hours per week (quieter in Winter, busier in Summer), and the possibility of short-term accommodation assistance if relocating.
