Our client is looking for an experienced Restaurant Manager for their renowned high-end dining venue in Mudgee, NSW, celebrated for its dedication to locally sourced, exceptional, and seasonal cuisine.
This is a rare opportunity to join a venue that caters to a discerning clientele, including passionate food and wine enthusiasts from both the local area and tourists. The restaurant prides itself on its elevated yet approachable dining experience, and a well-curated wine list featuring both local and international selections.
The Venue
The venue itself is a beautifully designed 80-seat restaurant, complemented by a 25-seat lounge bar, where guests can enjoy more casual dining and expertly crafted cocktails. Behind the scenes, the kitchen is state-of-the-art, and the front-of-house team operates in a warm, team-oriented environment. With a commitment to high standards and a nuanced approach to service, the team is dedicated to making every dining experience unforgettable. With plans to further cement its reputation as the premier dining destination in the area, the venue also aims to host captivating events, including wine-pairing dinners and weddings.
The Role
As the Restaurant Manager, you will take the reins of this high-end venue, overseeing both the restaurant and lounge bar. You will lead and inspire a team of up to eight front-of-house staff, ensuring the delivery of exceptional service that is both refined and approachable. Working closely with the Head Chef, you will play a key role in maintaining seamless operations, particularly during the busy Thursday to Saturday evening services.
Beyond daily operations, your role will also include managing inventory and stock control, working closely with local suppliers, and organizing wine-pairing dinners and tasting events. Leadership is key in this position, and you’ll be responsible for training and mentoring your team to ensure they can deliver the level of service expected in a venue of this calibre. Your passion for food and wine, coupled with your strong leadership skills, will be the driving force behind the restaurant’s continued success.
What They’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have a background in fine dining or high-end hospitality, with a deep understanding of wine service (WSET Level 1 or 2 preferred). You’ll be someone who can expertly analyze a wine list, pair it perfectly with food, and train your team to do the same. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are essential, as you’ll be expected to engage with guests and lead your team with confidence and warmth.
This role goes beyond just technical expertise – they are seeking a Restaurant Manager who can bring an added level of passion and engagement to the team, ensuring that both staff and guests enjoy a truly memorable experience.
The Opportunity
This is your chance to make a significant impact on one of the area’s most exciting dining venues. With a competitive salary range of $90,000 – $110,000, depending on experience, you’ll also enjoy the autonomy to run both the restaurant and lounge bar.
Huge benefits and extras on top of salary are available as the venue continues to grow, and you’ll be working in a supportive, collaborative environment under family-run ownership. Enjoy Sundays off, where you can relax with friends and family or explore the local wineries.
If you have a passion for hospitality, wine, and leading a team to deliver exceptional service, we’d love to hear from you. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the venue as it continues to innovate and expand its offerings, creating unforgettable dining experiences for both locals and visitors.
