We have an exceptional opportunity for an experienced General Manager to oversee this stunning 150-acre winery nestled in the picturesque countryside of Southeast Queensland, only 30 minutes drive from the Gold Coast.

About the Role

Located in the heart of the Scenic Rim, with stunning mountain views, this winery has several event spaces, including a beautifully restored farmhouse. These unique venues make it a sought-after destination for weddings and special events.  It’s also got a very busy, large restaurant and of course cellar door.

As the General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in both the operational and strategic aspects of the winery.  Reporting to a hands off family, who’s owned the winery for over 20 years.

You will lead a dedicated and long-seving team in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while also driving the long-term growth and success of the business.  Ultimately your strategic vision wiil transform the winery into a premier destination within the Scenic Rim.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of winery operations, including production, events, and customer service.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team of staff.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth and enhance the reputation.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to promote the winery and attract new customers.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and service across all operations.
  • Foster a positive and engaging work environment for all employees.

About You

Essential that you come from a large business background, able to manage and develop a multi-facated hospitality businesse in both operations and financial growth.  The key aspect of this business is events so experience in working in  large wedding events is required.

This is a role where you’ll be the expert in your field, you’ll report to an owner but ultimately you’ll have a major influence on the business, with autonomy to make your own decisions.

  • Proven experience in a senior management role within the wine or hospitality industry, especially events.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent strategic planning and business development abilities.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Ability to thrive in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of wine production and vineyard management is a plus.  Definitely a strong interest and passion for wine is essential.
