The Owner

The owner is a very successful businessman, and while present, he is not “hands on”. He has a number of different businesses but is very knowledgeable and passionate about the industry and the restaurant. He is known for being supportive and generous.

The Restaurant

It is really stunning and beautiful. It has different areas doing anywhere from 60 pax on a quiet day and 170 on a busy day, as well as functions especially in summer. It has a modern & fresh décor. This property has about 140 seats. It can be split as required into different areas. Clean, fresh and contemporary cuisine is the perfect description of the food. It is impressive.

While staying within the general theme, there is flexibility for the new Restaurant Manager to put their stamp on the venue.

The Team

This is a mid-size team of between 8 to 20 staff depending on the time of the year.  Managing this team in a fair “new school approach” is what is expected & keeping that family environment is very important.  The Restaurant Manager must make sure that the staff receives the training they need, well briefed & being kept interested and engaged.

What is required?

You’ll be a Restaurant Manager looking for that next step of running your own venue.  This restaurant is high on quality, so they’ll be looking for someone who has the confidence and expertise to set the vibe and culture of a hatted style restaurant.  They need someone who is passionate about the industry, who can hit the ground running with the staff and who loves to pass on their product knowledge.  A strong interest in wine would be an advantage.

Although mostly operational, you will be expected to have a good understanding of the financial backbone of the business, this will include knowledge of weekly budgets, wage costs, COG’s, etc.  There will be support with the bigger picture financials.

This a very open role for anyone who has the right attitude and the enthusiasm to be a success.  You will naturally come from a background of strong restaurant management with at least 2-3 years of experience as a manager in a similar quality establishment.

Looking at a package of up to $90K+S+KPI bonus and potential for some relocation expenses.
