The Venue

This restaurant impresses with its great view, stylish new fit-out, serious wine list and quality, highly professional team, including a gun head chef. It opened earlier this year and is going very strong and is already attracting a large following.

You’ll be working with an award-winning 3 wine goblet list, over 400 bins, a mixture of European classics with New World contemporaries.

The Role

This is a highly professional environment which offers the candidate the chance to work within a very rewarding company.  You’ll be working with a stellar wine list, in an environment that encourages creativity and fun.

As Sommelier, you’ll be an extension of the Head Sommelier. Responsibilities include assisting with the wine program, schmoozing regulars while maintaining a first-class style of service.

This is a chance for a Junior Sommelier or wine enthusiast to step up and be mentored by the Head Sommelier, who is extremely passionate and knowledgeable. Also, an opportunity for a strong Sommelier to take the reins and enjoy a hands-on, very little admin and service focused role. It’s all about leading from the front and having a strong presence on the floor.

Expect all the usual duties like guiding the customers through the wine list in an engaged and friendly manner. Interestingly as Sommelier, you’ll be involved in purchasing and COG’s, as well as stock control, growing your knowledge.

In addition to this, we are looking for a someone who really embodies “hospitality” and creates that sense of warmth and inviting atmosphere.

The Required Experience

Ideally, you’ll have a presence and a good sense of restaurant management as you’ll be required to host and float the restaurant floor in addition to wine duties.  Having positive energy and stacks of confidence is essential.

More so, you’ll be someone who always remains calm in any situation,  a natural motivator and has a strong passion for wine!

Hours and Rewards

The tips are incredible and consistent, approx. $500 week.
Not only will you be working in one of the most established and prominent venues in town, but you’ll be well rewarded for your efforts.

You’ll be putting 5 days of work per week, incorporating two doubles. Good working hours with no more than 45 a week, also one day shift (extra night off each week). Salary range is up to $75K+ Super + Tips, depending on experience.
