The Venue

This pub is in the Surry Hills / Redfern area. It is after the hearts of Sydney — mixing romance with simplicity and classicism with modernity. This is a venue which has had a huge refurbished. It has a really beautiful restaurant and cocktail bar as well as a bustling public bar. With tastefully done design and interior,  you’ll really be proud to work here.

It also has a stable staff and a GM who is a dynamo! She is switched on and has been in the venue for a couple of years, so she really understands the intricacies of the venue. She is a fantastic Mentor to get you to the next stage.

The Role

You will be working as a 2IC to the GM and responsible for the day-to-day running of the venue, with a strong emphasis on F&B, service and managing the team. This is a professional environment that offers the candidate the chance to work within a very unique space and learn off a business savvy GM.

Most importantly, you will need to be proficient in invoicing, stock control, ordering and POS management as well as general day to day.

The ideal candidate will have good beverage knowledge as well as a flair for the latest trends and ideas for promotions.


You must possess positive energy,  be immensely confident and a natural leader.  There will be a high level of responsibility for the position as this is an opening and they’ll be a lot of press and expectation around the venue.

You will be leading several other managers and a staff of 15 to 20 on the floor. That is why experience in managing a similar size service driven and structured venue is essential.  Having that care factor with guests from a community/local style pub is also important for this role.

This would be perfect for someone who is either a senior AM (with experience in invoicing, stock control, ordering and POS management) and looking for that next step. Being a current Operations Manager is a plus point.


Salary starts at $80K+S. But for the candidate with the right skills and experience or if you are the perfectly established Operations Manager, it can come up from $85K+S to $90K+S.
