The Property

This new restaurant opening will be the first of its kind for this experienced hospitality group. Having had many years opening and operating cafés, the group will expand and expect to open their first upmarket restaurant venue towards the end of May.

Boasting a sexy contemporary fit out, this restaurant will cater to corporate clients for lunch, and then transition into the “It Destination” for dinner. They will be featuring live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Capacity is about 180 pax inside and out. They have a gorgeous space to host functions and events. No expense has been spared on this high end, stylish and funky venue that is sure to be a favourite amongst the locals and corporates alike.

The Role

This is a chance for a strong host, restaurant reservations manager, events coordinator or events manager to take the role with a hands-on leadership approach. The ability to be well organised and structured on a day-to-day basis will be essential. Having a detailed eye as well as a good understanding of restaurant management is important. This is because you will need to navigate bookings, answer emails and customer queries, action the turnaround of tables during service, as well as liaise with staff and management to ensure a smooth running of service.

You’ll have a large team to conduct and motivate. Along with this is maintaining the high level of service expected from all the guests. So they definitely need a manager with lots of passion, personality and presence.

The venue has a gorgeous functions and events space for private gatherings. So your expertise in promoting it to clients and customers will be required. Your forte should include site inspections, discussing food and beverage package options, and liaising with the kitchen team on menu options and dietary requirements. Moreover, executing events from start to finish with restaurant management and staff is expected. Excellent communication and organisational skills will be your biggest strength, putting all the pieces together to ensure a successful and enjoyable execution of the function / event.

The Required Experience

Perfect for someone with supreme confidence in their own ability. Previous experience working in a premium casual restaurant is essential. You need to understand and deliver good service. You’ll be someone who always remains calm in any situation and is a natural motivator.

This will suit a Reservations Manager who is career hungry, focused and able to display excellent ‘natural’ leadership skills. If you’re looking for that next step and got that inner drive to make a business successful, a person who loves to develop their knowledge further and grow everyone else around them, then this is for you.

Events coordination from start to finish is your secret weapon as well as navigating busy services and making sure everything runs smoothly from first point of contact with customers making a booking, to them walking out with full bellies and a big smile.

You’ll be someone who is excellent with communication skills both written and verbal. We will also need you to have strong administration skills, down to earth leadership style. Be a people person, confident and being comfortable working with corporate clients is also a really important part of the role.

Hours and Rewards

This will be highly rewarding financially with up to $75K + super + tips for the person with the right skills and experience, working up to 45 hours a week.

The restaurant will be closed on Sundays. Also, busy lunches expected so chance to have one or two extra evenings off.
