The Venue

The venue has multiple cafes that you would be overseeing with two other supervisors. It’s a shared, collaborative space. It’s this structure that gives the freedom to run your own rosters and take turns having weekends off. You and the other two supervisors are completely in charge of your own roster and can organise flexible arrangements.

The venue is in the Macquarie/Ryde area, close to all sorts of transport with full access to trains and buses. The cafes are primarily takeaway only, so they are easy to service without having to manage dine in customers. They have a range of offering, working with premium food and artisanal coffee.

The Role

You will be focused on the day-to-day running of the cafés and taking ownership of the space, with your two colleagues. You will be trained up on how they do their ordering, rostering, stock management and overall leadership. This is a management role where you get exposure to strong business management skills.

This would suit a Café Supervisor who’s comfortable across selling food, making coffee, working in busy venues and wants to work in a strong, structured team and learn more management skills.

Your day to day will be helping open the venues in the morning, getting ready for service throughout the day, and servicing customers throughout. A lot of the role is leading a team of friendly, warm and passionate staff who all enjoy working together with like minded people. We are looking for someone with no ego, who is happy to jump in, make friends and get the work done. The two other supervisors are extremely supportive and collaborative and are looking for another to jump in and work together.

Hours

There’s huge flexibility in this role as the cafés are open all week, and working with a team of two other supervisors means the three of you get to write all the rosters together. This allows great flexibility, taking turns to have alternate weekends off, and working with your own schedule. As long as everything is staffed well, and there’s a supervisor on site, you can create a great work-life balance. The majority of the shifts are roughly 7am-3:30pm, with an occasional 11am-7:30pm shift, which means no nights and alternate weekends off.

Additionally, the venue closes between Christmas and New Years so you get time off over summer.
