The venue is a traditional inner-city pub. It has a strong food & beverage services and is gaming focus. It has two levels but this particular venue offers a TAB, sports bar, gaming room, a 200-seat bistro, and a large terrace. Their variety of offering and their friendly environment have made them a local favourite.
Aside from the usual licensee responsibilities, you must also oversee all the key areas of the venue. You will be in charge of running a multi-million dollar business like compliance, stock control, budget, forecasting, staffing, among others.
You will have a good support system, but they are serious about giving autonomy and accountability. Therefore, you need to be someone who understands current trends and is passionate about producing and delivering ideas on long-term projects. A background on marketing and business promotions is also desirable.
Primarily, the group is looking for someone who is currently a General Manager or Licensee but is wanting a new challenge. However, if you are an Assistant Manager or Operations Manager with a strong background and is highly trainable, the group is also willing to invest in training and development.
The ideal candidate must show a strong hospitality background – stable experience, running large and multi-facet venues, and overseeing large teams. You must be hands on. You must have a warm personality and show hospitable charm. You will take on the role of a leader and mentor so you need to approach your team with a supportive manner.
You are looking at around 50 hours per week on a rotating roster. Sundays are off including most public holidays. There is a chance of having the weekends off every few weeks.
