The Restaurant

It’s a stunning restaurant that you would be proud to bring your friends and family to. It has a great reputation in the industry and is one of the few restaurants that have all three elements of a great meal: location, quality service, and incredible food.

This award-winning and very busy fine dining restaurant based in the CBD has been a constant in SMH’s Good Food Guide. Its menu has some amazing produce from all over Australia executed perfectly. The style would be elegant, fresh and geared towards the side of simplicity.

The restaurant on a busy Saturday night can do 130 pax, and around 70 covers on a steady night during the week. There are also functions usually once a fortnight, which can be canapes or sit-downs.

The Team

On the floor, there is a team of around 14 staff and you would be working with one other Assistant Restaurant Manager and of course a Restaurant Manager. It is a very stable and happy team at the top. The Executive Chef, Restaurant Manager and Assistant Restaurant Manager have all been there for a good chunk of time.

The Role

In terms of the day to day, this would be a fairly standard Assistant Restaurant Manager role. You will be leading from the front. At times and on quiet days, you will be running a section. Opening and closing and managing the team are also part of the role.

Where it gets perhaps a little more interesting is that due to the transition in the junior to mid-level floor positions, a focus of this role will be developing and implementing a training plan for the staff.

The Candidate

You will need to be an experienced and organised Assistant Restaurant Manager and a passionate and committed industry professional who still wants to learn and constantly push forward.  You must be a great communicator and people person who can manage a team well and at the same time working with them in a hands-on capacity.

The salary for this position is up to $65-70K+S plus tips ($350-450 a week average).

The Hours

Usually 2 Doubles and 3 Singles

A single would be 9.30am – 5pm or if a PM 4pm -12pm

A double would be 11.45am – 4pm  then back at 5.45-10-11pm
