This role is for a Venue Manager. It requires hands-on leadership. The ability to train and nurture an eager, young team will be essential. You need to have an eye for detail and a fun and open approach to managing because you will have input in every aspect from pre-opening onwards.
You will be essential in giving ideas and feedback on everything, from the look and feel, to staffing and brainstorming ideas for combinations to try out with the events, as well as collabs with different suppliers, etc. The venue manager role comes with a variety and product you can really get excited about.
What is important in this role is having a keen passion for Sports. If you are the guy or girl that knows your Super Bowl from your NHL from your NBA and has great ideas on how to get the rest of Sydney as pumped as you are for all things sports, you could be exactly who we are looking for.
All the usual bits of running a venue will be there and it is, of course, hands-on, but we really want a venue manager who can drive the business through organised and fun feature events and as mentioned collaborations.
Being in front of the customers and setting the tone on the floor are essential to this role. Therefore, this is far from an office job and although there is some time allocated to stay on top of admin, it is very much client focused.
We are looking for a venue manager that can drive the business from the front get to know the locals, create a buzz and pass on some of that enthusiasm for the sports and craft beers.
Coming from a similar high-end and busy sports bar/craft beer-focused venue will be preferred. You will have a small to medium size team, so being a solid proven leader is critical.
The venue manager position will suit someone who has a dynamic and enthusiastic approach to managing a busy venue. Ideally, you will be someone who has had previous experience with hiring and training staff, with strong leadership skills and the confidence to manage a new team.
