This Canberra institution is a game changer in the local dining scene. Set to be completed in 6 weeks, it will feature a large sports bar and lounge, incorporating some of the best local craft beers, comprehensive wine list and seasonal cocktails.

The overall property has seating for over 600 pax and a range of contemporary food offerings all served from an open wrap-around kitchen.

The Role

As Assistant F&B Manager, you’ll be overseeing the opening within the bar and lounge area, assisting with the set-up and helping design the SOPs.  This will be a huge project that will require constant motivation and communication with the staff, as well as a flexible approach to adapt to a changing work environment.  Once open, there will be a strong emphasis of creating an engaged and dynamic style of service in line with the new fit-out.

You’ll be reporting to a highly experienced and dynamic F&B Manager, someone who is open and supportive to the staff.  This is essentially a dual role of bar and floor so you’ll need to be able to lead from the front, setting the tone on the floor, as well as being able to work comfortably behind a bar, driving ideas and maintaining standards.

Required Experience

Ideally, you’ll come from a high-quality and high volume Pub/Restaurant or Bar background because this position requires a person who brings a professional approach to service and training.

The Assistant F&B Manager position will be ideal for someone looking to advance their career and harness their expertise within a different environment.  You’ll be someone who has a wealth of experience in a variety of venues, a person with strong mentoring skills and an innovative thinker.

Having a restaurant management experience will be strongly desirable, also a strong interest and knowledge in beverages as this role will be overseeing the bar.
