Located in the inner west and just 20 minutes’ drive to the CBD, this is an exclusive venue for members only. The pace is relaxed and the vibe is chilled.

There are two dining areas at this venue – the restaurant and café. Serving brasserie or bistro style food, you will work with fresh ingredients and seasonal produce.

The Role

As sous chef, your job is to manage both café and restaurant as well as any function when the head chef is away.

You’ll be part of a team of 7 people who work well together. You will be cooking and helping the head chef daily in a fully equipped kitchen with a big wood fire oven.

It’s pretty laid back and relaxed in the kitchen so you will love working here. There is no shouting here, which makes everyone happy and focused on their work. Around 80% of your days will finish early by 3pm.

The hours are 38-40 hours per week, which is low in the industry. There are no double shifts so the pace is just nice if you want a work-life balance.

There are plenty of bus routes and on-site parking. The company provides uniforms and the pay package is up to $65K + super. On top of this, there’s also a bonus scheme for loyal chefs who have been around a long time.

Required Experience and Traits

We are looking for an experienced sous chef or a chef looking for that step up. If you’re passionate about cooking and want more hours to yourself, this will be the perfect role for you.

Experience in a brasserie or bistro style venue is desirable.
