The Venue

This established and growing group on the North Shore is looking for a Sous Chef to help lead the team at a diverse and pumping venue. They’re all about modern food and beverage offer, with a big focus on functions and events especially in Summer.

They’re looking for an enthusiastic and keen chef to join a strong team and help lead the kitchen.

The Role

This is a role for a passionate Sous Chef that wants to help run a successful venue. There is a lot of support from the Head Chef, and the role comes with lots of perks and nice elements to it. The head chef in this venue is a creative and switched-on guy, who has been in the business for many years now. His focus is on coming up with new menus ideas while driving the kitchen. So ideally you will assist with rostering and some more of the admin elements to lighten the load.

You will be responsible for all aspects of running the kitchen including:

  • Hands-on running of the kitchen, it’s a small to mid-size team so it is a totally hands-on role
  • Lead and train the team of chefs, improving food quality and skill level across the business
  • The ability to contribute to menu ideas and specials, creating and costing
  • Can create calm and collaborative energy in the kitchen

Rewards

The offer comes with a great pay structure and stability as the group comes from the club system. Salary is $78.7K + Super, and five weeks annual leave a year built in. Working 40 hours a week giving value to  work-life balance for their staff. They work on rotating rosters and mixes of shifts, so there is plenty of opportunity for weekends off!

Perks of the group – staff meals included every shift.  You will receive a free membership in their own fitness center. As they come from the club system, they are very strict on having fair and reasonable hours and make sure you don’t work more than 40 hours/week, and paid OT when necessary in the Summer.
