The reputation stems from the very best in produce, pretty much everything is made from scratch and they have a fabulous approach to service.

The Team

This is a small size team that works well together and thinks of themselves as a family. As sous chef, you are expected to manage this team in a fair “new school approach”, make sure all staff are receiving the training they need, well briefed and being kept interested in the industry. Also, it is very important to keep that sense of family environment.

The former sous chef of the venue has been promoted Head Chef. A Michelin starred background chef who is firm but fair leader that does not believe in shouting, but communication is one of his musts.

The Role

On offer is a Sous Chef position that can work all sections around the kitchen and fill in for when chefs are on holidays. The kitchen has all the equipment needed for the 70-seater restaurant.

Since they are in the middle of the city, lunches are there busiest trade where they can do 80 to 90 covers on a busy day with 5 to 6 chefs in the kitchen.

What the client is looking for is:
• Someone that enjoys working under pressure.
• Can work every section in the kitchen and has experience doing pastry.
• Has a passion for cooking.
• Super organised and works clean.

What is on offer

If you are looking for a work/life balance and still cook good food, this place definitely has it. Since this venue is only closed on Sundays, you are going to have Saturdays & Sundays off or Sundays & Mondays off, 1 double and 4 singles, 40-43 hours. The salary is up to $85K+Super+Tips.
