This is a full-time pastry chef position. You will need to be a self-starter, have a proven stable work history at a senior pastry chef level in a similar role.
The role requires you to be hands-on as you will be leading your team from the front. Some of the products that the pastry kitchen put out are really quite breathtaking in terms of the playfulness and creativity.
Initially, you will be creating a Dessert Bar offering, but the role and responsibilities will grow along the way.
You will be based in the main pastry kitchen but this will grow in the medium term and you would be overseeing all aspects. You will be given THE “toys” in the kitchen to bring out that creativity. Moreover, you will have the support from the head office to be successful in this role.
The teams and structure are being put in place, and part of your role will be refining and working with the Executive Chef to mentor and drive the creativity and rapport of the team.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for somebody who is really strong as a chef technically and can continue the good work that the current pastry chef has been doing.
You will have the opportunity to play around and get in touch with your creative side in this role as well as have the unusual opportunity to also have true work-life balance.
We are ideally looking for a pastry chef that is comfortable interacting from time to time with the guests, so having a “guest friendly” personality would be a bonus.
Up to $85K+S* is on offer for the right candidate.
